Last week saw the Dita Von Teese fashion show to launch her new lingerie line in Australia. This video sees the LA burlesque dancer take to the catwalk alongside her lovely models to promote the range.
Last week, superstar showgirl Dita Von Teese jetted to Australia to launch her new underwear line. In an exclusive collaboration with Target, the Von Follies by Dita Von Teese collection is aimed at women with curves and a love for vintage.
Dita Von Teese said, “A femme fatale is always chic, a little wicked, edgy and dark, and has her own dress code she sticks to.” Well, voluptuous women and vintage inspiration is what burlesque is all about so no one was disappointed.
The lingerie catwalk show was a hit during the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2012. Dita Von Teese revealed that she didn’t want skinny models to show off her undies because they look better on girls with, “Shape”.
She continued, “Of course I want to show all different types and more voluptuous girls. We gave a lot of models the axe for being too skinny — we probably turned away a dozen.
“It’s important to me we show curvaceous women and fuller-figured girls. Lingerie looks terrific on girls with shape.”
Earlier in the day, the alabaster beauty tweeted: “Disaster averted! Just issued out a “no spray tan” alert to our models. Apparently, spray tan is the usual prep for lingerie shows. Yikes!”
Dita later clarified, “I really wanted natural skin tones and not the fake orange glow, I want the real thing.”
The Von Follies by Dita Von Teese line features luxurious vintage-inspired items inspired by Dita’s own high waisted knickers and overwired bras. The 26-piece collection has already made a splash online, with some items such as the leopard suspender belt selling out within hours. We can’t wait to get our hands on it.
