The subject of many children’s nightmares, the Sleeping Beauty villain, takes centre stage in a new telling of the, “events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.”

The cast also includes Elle Fanning as Aurora who becomes Sleeping Beauty, Sam Riley, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

We can’t wait to see more from The Mistress of Evil in Disney’s Maleficent! The film isn’t due out until 2014. Sad face. We’ll just have to be patient, humph. Until then enjoy the newly released Maleficent trailer:
