Make up artist, Valeriya Kutsan, and photographer, Alexander Khokhlov, teamed up to create this amazing monochrome masterpiece in their “Weird Beauty” series.

Valeriya Kutsan and Alexander Khokhlov teamed up to produce images of famous brands and symbols. Their simple use of colour has made for powerful images.
Alexander Khokhlov said, “In these series we decided to deny any colour in our series except black and white to make more accent on forms and volume.
“The experiment should prove that usual simple forms, familiar things or characters can be a main part of wonderful beauty looks. Model faces in this project are not just canvases for the face-arts – they play their own role in each photo with different parts.”
Valeriya Kutsan created these effects by first making a white base and painting over it with black. She certainly puts country fair face painting to shame. The iconic symbols on a human face shows their power and possible intrusiveness in a surprisingly beautiful way.
Alexander Khokhlov went on to tell The Daily Mail, “It was simultaneously simple, stylish, illusionary effective and weird, so I decided to name the project ‘Weird Beauty’ after the first letters of ‘white’ and ‘black’.”
Just wow. Here are two more of our favourites from the Weird Beauty project:

Burlexe is a sensational London burlesque show inspired by the women who created the genre and perform the art. It fuses burlesque performance with storytelling, dancing with acting.
