The creator of our unique London burlesque show shares the inspiration he has received from joining the burgeoning British burlesque dancing community.
As many of you know, our burlesque show Burlexe is a brand new theatrical project. It champions the lives of burlesque dancers and female performers that we’re trying to get off the ground.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been ‘befriended’ on Facebook by many of the women who’ve been involved to date.
There are times when I worry how I’m going to push this project forward, whether I can make it work. Whatever happens, I know that when I log into Facebook, I’m able to get a snapshot of what this project is about. On a daily basis, I see it through the various comments and feeds I get.
I may get a glimpse of Kiki Kaboom’s wackiness; laugh at Fancy Chance’s one-liners; catch up on Crimson Skye’s ‘murderous’ exploits and hear about Rubyyy Jones’ c*** cakes. A day doesn’t go past that I don’t marvel at the majesty of Goodtime Mama Jojo. Now I’m being treated to Satan’s Angel’s pictures from the past (and the list goes on and on by the way).
But today in particular, Luna Rosa wrote such a moving and admirable post about ignorance and negativity and how everyone should take responsibility to combat this that I felt inspired to share my joy in everything that these new friends have brought into my life.
And I know if nothing else were to happen, you truly enrich my soul. Thank you.
