Burlexe is joining up with The Old Fashioned Dating Company for our 22nd February show. People have a chance to go on matched dates before watching a fabulous theatrical burlesque show, ie. Burlexe! It’s for modern people with old fashioned values.
The Old Fashioned Dating Company and Burlexe
The Old Fashioned Dating Company will launch in partnership with the Burlexe show. We’re an original and highly reviewed West End show combining burlesque performances with actresses’ burlesque monologues, all expertly sewn together by top-hatted whip-cracking mistress of ceremonies r’n’b songstress Kele Le Roc.
The event is a journey back to 1930s courting. On arrival, old-fashioned daters will receive a sealed dating card which will contain their dating selection for the evening. Each date will be at a different table, matched by a person not a machine, based on a questionnaire completed on booking. Old Fashioned Dating will look after the post-event matchmaking, letting daters know who has a mutual liking so people can pursue their positive meetings and see where they lead.
Old Fashioned Dating founder, Catherine Crawley, has hosted speed dating events in London for seven years as well as producing cabaret and burlesque shows at top venues including the Pigalle, Soho Revue Bar, Wiltons Music Hall and Madame Jojos. She said, “I just felt there was a real need for a more personalised but affordable dating service with events where it’s not random, everyone has been personally matched.
“I hope to introduce people who will fancy each other but who will have lots of other common ground. It’s the return of the old fashioned matchmaker and I think with making romance happen backwards is definitely the way forwards.”

Doors open 6.00, Dating starts promptly at 6.30, the Burlexe show starts 8.00pm, Carriages 11pm, £11 for dating only, £32 for dating and show.
