Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend 2012
Well first things first, burlesque always connects with its own history, celebrating its legends and performers of past and present.
Alongside its cousins, the world of drag and pageantry, burlesque is commemorated with ‘The Oscars of Burlesque-striptease’ The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.
Based in Las Vegas and held every year, the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend is a spectacle of performance and parties culminating in the battle to be crowned Miss Exotic World. Last year presented the highest number of UK participants in the competition so far.
The Burlesque Hall of Fame is a non-profit organisation that exists to inspire and educate whilst supporting performers and retaining a history of burlesque. It’s a competition that fosters innovation and re-invention and is a huge part of the burlesque community’s calendar.
This year, the UK is again sending a strong presence with the full list of competitors released today!
The BHoF Tournament of Tease will be on Saturday 2nd June, 2012 and videos/live streaming will be released nearer the time. We’ll be on twitter no doubt, martini in hand following it all, but just follow hashtag #BHOF in the weeks leading up.

Last year Anna Fur Laxis performed her wonderful burlesque routine, The Prestige, at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend. With elements of her burlesque costume created by Kiva and Catherine D’Lish, she wowed the crowd with her magic and moxy.
The British burlesque dancer was awarded 1st Runner Up, coming second only to Miss Indigo Blue. This year has seen Miss Exotic World 2011 make several edicts. Watch the first one from her Royal Hiney and learn how to behave:
