Immodesty Blaize is a British burlesque dancer known for her glamorous antics on the stage and the catwalk. We could all learn a thing or two from this wonderful burlesque performer…
Immodesty Blaize is an award-winning British burlesque dancer. She won Best Debut at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender in 2006. She then returned the following year to win Most Classic and the coveted Miss Exotic World title.
She has contributed so much to the genre, whether it’s her bonkbuster books or Burlesque Undressed documentary. She also endeavours to bring burlesque both to the mainstream and high fashion.
Immodesty Blaize has strutted the runways of Agent Provocateur and the Ziad Fashion Show at London Fashion Week. Not to mention her performance on the British day-time TV programme, The Paul O’Grady Show.
She later starred in his Perspectives: Gypsy Rose Lee documentary but her burlesque dancing on the show is a must-see:
If that wasn’t enough, see Immodesty Blaize star alongside Blue in their 2013 music video:
In 2013 Immodesty Blaize represented UK burlesque in Perspectives: Gypsy Rose Lee with Paul O’Grady.
She also took burlesque one step further by becoming an ambassador of All Walks. She promotes body positivity through her work, and has now joined the organisation founded by Caryn Franklin, Debra Bourne and Erin O’Connor.
They work with influential catwalk designers and top industry creatives to celebrate more diversity within the fashion industry. Bravo!
She has also graced the runways of such designs as Agent Provocateur – of course! – and you can check her out (above and below) in the Ziad Fashion Show at London Fashion Week.
The avant garde designs, high fashion and Operatic music are oh-so burlesque, the mix of high fashion and exhibitionists. Immodesty Blaize strips out of her amazing gown(s) and shows off those voluptuous curves then shows a little more.
