Introducing The Velvet Hammer Burlesque Documentary
Following on from The History of Burlesque Dancing we’re sharing The Velvet Hammer Burlesque Documentary. In the 1990s Michelle Carr’s The Velvet Hammer Burlesque and their sold out shows were one of the driving forces behind the burlesque revival.
The LA burlesque dancers are seen in this burlesque documentary from behind the scenes to on stage performances. Using the old variety show format, they put the tease back into striptease with their comical on-stage performances and ornate burlesque costumes.
The first instalment of this burlesque documentary takes a peek behind the curtain and sees a celebration of womanhood. In part two you get a tantalising selection of the burlesque performers in the limelight, male and female.
The burlesque troupe became world renowned for their high quality shows and burlesque dancers. The Velvet Hammer Burlesque has introduced such talent as Miss Exotic World 2002, Kitten de Ville.
There’s also a Velvet Hammer Burlesque book which you can get on Amazon. This burlesque book gives glimpse of the curvtastic, bawdy women such as the above image.
