Dympna Le Rasle is one of our core Burlesque actresses. She is producing and starring in the most wonderful show from next week in London, entitled When Movies Were Movies.

It will be running 17th April until 4th May 2012 at Ye Olde Rose and Crowne Theatre, Walthamstow. The show celebrates the Golden Age of cinema from the slapstick silent era to the swinging sixties.
Set in 1969, in an under-threat of closure cinema, the show mixes Hollywood inspired comedy sketches, music, songs, dance and reminiscence.
Written and compiled by Keith Myers, produced by Dympna Le Rasle, the show remembers the glory of Saturday Morning Pictures. Fred and Ginger, kissing in the back row, Noel and Gertie, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. The Swashbucklers and wartime cinema singalongs. Jiving in the Aisles, “bunking in”, Cowboys and Indians, Rodgers and Hammerstein.
