On 24th June, the Burlexe show will be lending its/our voice to to help support World Femininity Day. The event is a celebration of femininity in all its forms. It enables people to express their identity as they choose.
World Femininity Day 2012
The event’s founder Zoe Charles says, “Our mission is to discover, empower and celebrate femininity in all who choose to embrace it, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or culture, and to raise money and awareness for charities committed to ending the exploitation femininity and feminine expression.”
World Femininity Day began last year with events in London, New York, Copenhagen, Rio and Zagreb.
This year’s event includes a merkin-making workshop with Gaby Kennedy. Alongside an evening of burlesque featuring Tricity Vogue, Hotcake Kitty, Rubyyy Jones, Mr Mistress, Ivy Paige, Toni Galore and of course, Lady Cheek, the founder of World Femininity Day.
The Burlexe show will be contributing a burlesque monologue from the show, performed by the one and only Luna Rosa.
All the monies are donated to the Orchid Project, a charity committed to ending female genital cutting.
