This is How You Burlesque… Angie Pontani
Angie Potani began burlesque dancing underage in Dutch Weismann’s Follies. At 17 she became a pivotal part of the burlesque revival.
After the influential New York burlesque show closed, Angie went onto form The World Famous Pontani Sisters. The new burlesque trio saw Angie Potani joined by her burlesque sisters: Tara Pontani and Helen Pontani.
As a burlesque troupe they have gone onto perform all over the East Coast with their vivacious go-go style. Then in 2006, Angie Pontani began to focus on her solo burlesque dancing career.
By 2008 she was competing in the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend. That year Angie took home the crown of Miss Exotic World. Watch her winning burlesque performance from BHOF 08:
Angie Pontani has had such an amazing career. She also co-produced This Is Burlesque, produces and performs in Burlesque-A-Pades and co-produces the New York Burlesque Festival. This year also saw her as one of the organisers of Dixie Evans Week.
The list just goes on and on. Angie has been shot by such renowned photographers as Burlexe favourite, Ellen Von Unwerth. She has made a DVD series on go-go dancing and even hosts a podcast called The Pontani Pages.
