Burlesque Monologues
Burlexe is a sensational London burlesque show inspired by the women who created the genre and perform the art. It fuses burlesque performance with storytelling, dancing with acting.
Burlexe is the Vagina Monologues of burlesque. It’s a brand new theatrical show based on the stories of the incredible women who’ve created burlesque, old and new. The herstory of showgirls.
It’s about strong, powerful, amazing women. It’s like nothing you’ve seen before… And these are the women who will be performing it.

Dympna Messenger is Jo
Our actress, Dympna Messenger, will be performing the inspirational burlesque monologue inspired by Goodtime Mama Jojo. She’ll be bringing the ultimate British burlesque legend to life.
Goodtime Mama Jojo is known for her pro-women enthusiasm and has a fabulously established career as a burlesque teacher. The London Academy of Burlesque founder has become our burlesque guru. We can’t wait for you to hear her story.
Kyrah Davis is Kiki
Kyrah Davis will be adding sparkle to the role of the very sparkly Kiki Kaboom this Monday. In a bizarre twist, Kiki Kaboom will also be performing. Double the Kaboom!
Chloe is Iconic
Our leading actress, Chloe Ewart is taking to the stage to play not one but three burlesque icons: Louise, Lillian and Tura. She shares the stories of women who struggled through controversy and performed in burlesque’s hey day.
These burlesque monologues remember where the genre came from to see where we are now. They’re chocked full of sass, strength and history. Love it.
Fancy Chance is HILARIOUS
Comedienne, burlesque clown and hair hanger. Fancy Chance will be putting her acting talents to work on Monday when she takes on a twist-in-the-tail tale in the Burlexe show. Be there and all will be revealed.
Javine Hylton is Angel
Javine Hylton will be taking to the stage in the very first Burlexe burlesque show acting, singing AND performing burlesque. She’s been rehearsing burlesque with the wonderful Jo King. We can’t wait for you to see the special performance she has lined up. We hope to see you there!!
