We’re all tightening our belts and purse strings but burlesque performer still can’t go without their sexy accessories. Luckily, burlesque dancers and their fans are a thrifty bunch.

We’ve shared some Cheap Burlesque Costumes DIY and one of our most popular pieces, How to Make Burlesque Pasties and Nipple Tassels. Immodesty Blaize gave a list of burlesque costume terms but fascinator hats didn’t quite make the cut. Yet, it’s one of our favourite accessories for burlesque shows and burlesque parties.

Fascinators are also the perfect headwear for the blustery autumn season and even special occasions like weddings. Basically, we kinda like ’em and you can even make your own.

This video tutorial by Whitney Sews shows how to make a fascinator hat. You can use whatever colour fabric you choose, whichever feathers suit your taste and similarly the type of veil. The only advice we’d add is maybe get an attachment that suits your hair colour.
