Kalani Kokonuts Burlesque Story
Kalani Kokonuts began her career as an underage topless stripper. She followed in the footsteps of many a bad girl in the industry.
At the time, however, burlesque was on its last legs. The appeal of new forms of entertainment had taken stripping from the stage to the pole and the lap. The teasing, coy coquettes of yore were long gone.
Since the dark days of that decade, however, neo-burlesque has been born and is going from strength to strength. This is in now small part to burlesque performers like Kalani Kokonuts.
A generous amount of credit also goes to burlesque festivals and events and there is no bigger authority than the Burlesque Hall of Fame. Their weekender has become a pilgrimage for every showgirl and showboy the world over.
One day sees modern burlesque dancers compete for titles, the second day is a celebration of burlesque legends. The former, has no greater honour than the title of Miss Exotic World.
In 2009, Kalani Kokonuts took home this crown as well as the accolade of #Most Dazzling’. Watch her burlesque dancing at the event last year.
At the Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2009, Las Vegas, Kalani Kokonuts was on her home turf but her achievements don’t end there. She has stripped her way across the world.
Kalani Kokonuts has performed in The Immodest Tease Show at London’s Koko, alongside amazing burlesque dancers such as Dirty Martini, Michelle L’Amour and Immodesty Blaize. She also strutted her stuff at the opening of the Bettie Page Boutique.
