Roxi D’Lite is an award-winning international burlesque performer and starred in our fave burlesque movie of 2012. We could all learn a thing or two from this wonderful burlesque dancer…
Burlesque dancer, Roxi D’Lite papped herself alongside Miss Exotic World winners Kalani Kokonuts, Catherine D’Lish and Kitten de Ville. Unfortunately, her Tournament of Tease story hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
The pint-sized burlesque dancer first entered the Miss Exotic World competition in 2009. It was her first time attending the Las Vegas event. She won First Runner Up with her Runaway Bride burlesque dance. Though, she was the first ever Canadian burlesque dancer to be invited to compete.
Watch Roxi D’Lite’s road to the Burlesque Hall of Fame. The video also showcases the talents of Michelle L’amour, Immodesty Blaize, Satan’s Angel, Catherine D’Lish and Miss Dirty Martini.
Her original performance earned her the right to re-enter the following year. She was then crowned Miss Exotic World 2010 at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend. The same year the Burlesque Hall of Fame Museum was opened in Las Vegas.
Roxi D’Lite triumphed with her new tagline ‘The Drinkin’, Smokin’, Strippin’ Machine’ and burlesque act, The Smoking Cigar. She said the routine was inspired by an old photograph of film noir legend, Marlene Dietrich. Bravo on all fronts!
We couldn’t mention Roxi D’Lite without a nod to the Burlesque Assassins. Roxi was the star of the fabulous 2012 burlesque movie. We caught up with her co-star and Burlexe bestie, Kiki Kaboom and director, Jonathan Joffe to get all the behind-the-scenes goss.
