Zelia Rose is an award-winning Australian burlesque performer known for her mix of classic and comic styles. We could all learn a thing or two from this long-legged lovely…
Australian burlesque dancer, Zelia Rose comes from a performing arts background. She has both a degree in arts, dance and visual arts and diploma in advanced dance performance.
She is also known as a talented cabaret singer, choreographer, one-third of La Rouge and her solo burlesque performances. Now she has joined the ranks of burlesque queens.
In 2014 Zelia Rose competed in and won the Miss Burlesque Victoria heat of the Miss Burlesque International burlesque competition. She took the crown with her sensational Josephine Baker inspired act.
This burlesque routine perfectly portrays her influences from 1930s showgirls and vibrant swing dance. It’s high energy, fast-paced and you can watch it here with this burlesque video.
She has since gone on to compete for the Miss Burlesque Australia 2014 crown and she won that too! Zelia Rose’s classic Josephine Baker act took her far.
We, hoever, are also loving another of her burlesque dancing routines. This time she infuses aerialist hoop skills with brilliant comedic timing. Giggles, glitz and glamour galore. Bravo!
