Meet our lovely production assistant, Maxine Moustrides. Here’s her story and take on our London burlesque show.
Our London Burlesque Show
How did you get involved in Burlexe? I met Howard Wilmot through Javine Hylton in March and have been working on Burlexe ever since.
Why did you get involved in the Burlexe show? I got involved with Burlexe because I had just graduated from University and wanted to build my contact base and work within the theatrical world I had trained in.
Throughout my degree I learnt how to run theatre companies, so Burlexe has given me the opportunity to see how shows start within the real world. I have been lucky enough to put my input in and explore the reality of a new show starting out.
What did you do before Burlexe? Before Burlexe I lived in Cornwall and had just graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons Theatre and Performance from Plymouth University.
What has our London burlesque show brought into your life? Burlexe has brought a fun, open-minded group to my life that I have learnt so much from. It has also brought me into the world of burlesque as I had not previously explored this art form and now I have great respect for all who do it.
What do you like best about Burlexe? I love that Burlexe is a new project that I really believe in. The concept sells itself and is amazing. It’s fun and everyone involved believes in it 100%.
