The London Icon, Dame Vivienne Westwood hits 71 this Easter weekend. She remains at the forefront of UK fashion and is still as outspoken and glorious as ever.
From going knicker-less at Buckingham Palace to her legendary Kings Road legacy, Vivienne Westwood is a constant reminder of the possibilities that breaking the mold can bring. A schoolteacher until the ’80s Westwood became a spokesperson for subversion, rebellion and ultimately beautifully constructed, heavily female focused fashion.
Where male designers regularly cut curves, celebrate the angular and blur gender, Westwood creates strong silhouettes for even the slimmest of models and tailors busts that scream out to be worn by Christina Hendricks.
