Goodtime Mama Jojo, aka Jo King is the undisputed British Burlesque Legend and her work for other performers and women from all walks of life is about helping them drop their insecurities and access their true selves.

The Burlexe London burlesque show is a brand new theatrical experience based on stories of the incredible women who created the art form. It fuses performance with storytelling, dancing with acting. It’s about strong, powerful, amazing women. And it’s like nothing you’ve seen before…
Our Burlexe show features:
– Popstar Kele Le Roc, for whom this is her first experience of burlesque.
– The crème de la crème of UK burlesque in acting roles Fancy Chance, Kiki Kaboom and Luna Rosa.
– Actresses Chloe Ewart, Dympna Messenger and Gillian MacGregor.
– Burlesque from Miss Glory Pearl, Sabrina Sweepstakes and Rubyyy Jones.
– Not to mention a stamp of authenticity from British Burlesque Legend, Goodtime Mama Jojo, founder of the London Academy of Burlesque.
Burlexe offers the first burlesque show to truly represent the history of the genre. This is done through historical and contemporary characters’ stories. It mixes monologues with both vocal and burlesque performances.
Various monologues for the show have been created from real interviews with current burlesque stars. They reveal what it means to be a burlesque performer and subsequently: what it means to be a woman.
Goodtime Mama Jojo says, “I love that Burlexe has so many of the dramatic elements that make burlesque so fascinating. Burlexe is going to take its audience on a journey of celebration.”
Our London burlesque show promises to reshape burlesque and overturn everyone’s expectations and understanding about the art form and what the women who perform it are all about.
